Current Job:

  • Responsible for organizational accreditation, policy development, organizational communication on regulatory issues.

  • Serves as chairs to performance improvement committees and Joint Commission committee

  • Oversees many different Joint Commission, state, and organizational surveys within the facility.

Experience:

Has served as medical quality assurance coordinator, critical care case manger, education specialist in the nursing education development department, and performance improvement specialist.

Thoughts about AHAP:

This is the first time I've been able to network with others in similar positions. Due to the evolution of the Joint Commission standards and the unannounced survey, we need to work together in being continually ready and learn how to prepare our staff for that. Also, many members, like myself, wear more than one hat. We are all evolving in our roles to meet some of these more prescriptive standards.
